Bye-bye July

It's been raining a lot, and every day.  We needed it!  Hard to believe our rainfall average is still below normal after all this rain.  I got more weeding finished, but little more than that.
 Dog Days.

Junior swimming with his buddies (the coonhound is my Sparky who lives in the country with my mom).

Finally picked my pineapple.  The whole plant fell over so I had to re-plant it. :\
My Texas Sage looks beautiful.  I'm thinking about getting a couple more for along the house.

Starting to get my bearings back!

While physical therapy is still draining me, I'm trying to do a little more each day.  I bought myself the best little garden cart, that with proper body mechanics you do not have to bend to pull weeds.  So I've been getting a start on my over grown mess!  Love reading through everyone's blogs; some people soaking up summer while others are preparing for fall.
 My flowers sure look pretty.
This poor little aloe is being over taken by these two succulents.
They just keep getting bigger and bigger.
I want to add to my succulent garden, but I don't want to take on any more projects right now.  Two of them don't seem to grow at all.  I re-planted my sage also because the plastic pot it was in cracked.
My succulent garden pup.  Love him!
 Summer rains bring bright flowers.
I pained this pot for an African Violet (I need to do one more) that needs to be replanted.
I weeded my earth boxes and got them ready for some more veggies.  I found they still had little plants surviving, we'll see if they produce anything.
Oh my, the weeds hath taken over.
The last of my large aloe & it's barely hanging on.  So sad.  Hope this one makes it.
Yes, that is Texas Sage amongst the weeds.
I completed weeding this bed!  So happy!  My fig trees are doing great.

My petunias aren't doing so well, the lantana looks great.
I just bought that little scraggly lantana at Lowes on clearance.  I think it's yellow (I'm hoping).
This plumeria smells amazing!

Almost 8:00pm & still 90 degrees here!

...with the humidity the "feels like" is like 102.  Well I've noticed a lot of bloggers/store owners putting their fall stuff out; I don't mind a bit, can't get enough of it!  I don't have any new pictures, I'm still watching the weeds overtake everything, my aloe die and my dog get fat.  oh boy!  So let's post something from something I was doing this time last year:
July 6th, June & I were enjoying time on the boat.

I've been spending a lot of time job searching.  YIKES!  I would love a change of location, but don't know where to look!  Or, I'll just stay here & continue my frustrating job hunting.  I don't even know what job I'm looking for!  I keep thinking it will slap me in the face when I see it (fat chance, right).

Happy 239th Birthday America!

Usually I'm on the boat the weekend of July 4th- but here I sit at home unable to do much of anything, oh well.  I was invited to a family party tonight but I don't like to leave my dog alone (he's terrified of fireworks), I may go for a short time though.
On another note, I almost didn't hang my flag because I'm so disgusted with so many things going on in America right now, and so many people that just jump on these band wagons, completely ignorant to both sides of the issue(s).  But I'd like to think there's still people out there like me, who believe in morals, family, tradition and the good [of people], who work hard and don't ask for hand-outs, who aren't offended by everyone and everything.  Seems silly celebrating Independence Day for a country whose people [government] has made it completely dependent on other countries (or a country).

Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July.
