Peace, on the river...

What a great way to start the year!  So peaceful, and allowing time to reflect.
I enjoy following so many other blogs on here for the simple fact that they take me away...
I live on the tourist-attraction west coast of Florida, born and raised.  It hasn't always been like it is today- it used to be a quaint, fairly quiet, fishing/ beach town close to all the great attractions Florida has to offer.
Well, word got out.  Tourist are flocking here (moving here) from everywhere, daily.  Droves of transients come here, because they can live outside all year round.  Our commissioners are now bought and sold by the developers.  They aren't leaving a single piece of land for anything- flooding has increased, land prices are through the roof and wages are just above minimum wage, even for professional jobs.
Our crime rates have quadrupled.  Traffic is horrendous.  There is no more middle class- there are poor, and there are wealthy.
What's this mean for me?  It is time to relocate.
I just don't know where to.  I like quiet, safe, quaint towns.  Not to be confused with poor, suffering towns.
I am Florida grown, born and raised in the salt water- so I'd like to stay near that.  I am completely willing to leave the state, however.  I have always liked Georgia.  But no more tourist towns, please!
